The Advantages and Disadvantages of Two Jobs free essay sample
My neighbor Sue lives in a nice house and has two luxurious cars in the driveway. Her overtime hours at work are being eliminated, so the money she is used to making is becoming less. So, Sue must decide whether or not to take on a second job to live the way she is accustomed to. There are numerous advantages and disadvantages in working two jobs. Before deciding on working two jobs, it would be a good idea to consider these positives and negatives. We should consider the benefits in deciding to have two jobs. The main reason for working two jobs is to provide enough income to survive and pay the bills. The additional income might make a difference in paying for a certain quality of life that someone is accustomed to living. In working two jobs, there is an opportunity to improve your skills in different areas. Sometimes the skills learned in the second job can improve the skills for the primary job. We will write a custom essay sample on The Advantages and Disadvantages of Two Jobs or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page People may develop entirely different skills from the second job. You may have a competitive edge from working two jobs in the job market because you may have different skills to bring to your new job. You may have better experience than someone else has making you a more desirable candidate. Working two jobs provides more networking opportunities and interacting with more people. This could provide you with additional references and recommendations for future jobs. As a result of working two jobs, people develop stronger time management skills. These skills develop from the demands of different schedules, deadlines, and other elements of each job. Although there are advantages of having two jobs, we must consider the disadvantages too. People who work two jobs commonly become very fatigued. This is particularly true if a person has family responsibilities to take care of in addition to the two jobs. One of the first things people sacrifice when working two jobs is sleep. Sleep deprivation makes it difficult to keep up with a busy working pace. Being constantly tired and fatigued from working many hours will decrease oneââ¬â¢s overall productivity. The quality and quantity of work slows down when the body becomes exhausted. If the personââ¬â¢s quality of work suffers at one or both jobs, their superiors may take notice. If the quality and productivity decreases due to fatigue this could put one or both jobs at risk. People who work two jobs often lose focus and motivation if this continues infinitely. The body needs a break from the stress of working two jobs, and if it does not get it, it would most likely get burned out. Once your body gets to the point of exhaustion, you could be open to other health problems. The lack of sleep may increase blood pressure, create headaches, and reduce your immune response. Working two jobs reduces or eliminates important family time. The less time you get with you loved ones, the more important moments and activities you miss. Another result from working two jobs is marital problems. As you are working more hours, you spouse or partner is taking care of the home alone and may become resentful of all the time you are spending at work. Increased pressures and higher level of stress may be another disadvantage of working two jobs. You may also want to consider that you will have two supervisors, two groups of coworkers, and two sets of company policies and procedures to keep up with. When deciding to work that second job, it is important to consider if you really need or want the job and if the negatives will outweigh the benefits. One must also consider the potential problems at home from taking the second job. While the extra money would be appreciated, it may not be worth the potential problems. The best of luck to you as you carefully consider this important decision.

Japan system of politics after WWII essays
Japan system of politics after WWII essays A British style parliament state was established in which the cabinet became a committee of the majority party or coalition in the Diet. This broke with the Meiji Constitution, which had permitted the emperor or those who acted in his name to appoint prime ministers without regard for the Diet. The new constitution also added an American-style independent judiciary and a federal system of prefectures with elected governors and local leaders. Women were given the right to vote and the rights to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, a free press, and free assembly were guaranteed. These were joined by newer rights, such as academic freedom, collective bargaining, sexual equality in marriage, and minimal standards of wholesome and cultural living. Not only that but the no-war clause, stipulated, à ¡Ã °the Japanese people forever renounce war as a sovereign right of the nationà ¡ and will never again maintain à ¡Ã °land, sea, and air forcesà ¡ or à ¡Ã °other war potentialà ¡. This article would make Japan into something unique in the world: a major power without commensurate military strength. The constitution defined a new role for the emperor as à ¡Ã ° the symbol of the state deriving his position from the will of the people with whom resides sovereign power.à ¡ In Japan the most important parties are the Liberal Democratic Party and the communist party called the Japanese Socialist Party. The LDP is mostly responsible for the great wealth of Japan, if it wasnà ¡Ã ¯t for ità ¡Ã ¯s democratic ideas and capitalism that Japan would be the number one economic power in the world after the US. ...

A short Proposal document Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
A short Proposal document - Essay Example By attending the conference, my colleagues and I will have ample time to interact with business leaders from all over the world and create a platform through which our company can increase its customer base through these links. We will use socialization aspect of the conference to sell our company to the present global business leaders. Also, the conference will focus on discussing issues that are pertinent to the industry, which I believe will be beneficial to everyday operation of KW-Connect. The presentations will offer me a chance to know industry-related issues and how to tackle emerging challenges. This would help me and my colleagues drive our company to the top of the market. Most importantly, the conference will have a hall filled up with stands for regional and global business leaders and it would be very crucial for KW-Connect to also have a company stand at the conference. By having a stand at a conference that host global business leaders, the image of KW-Connect will be sold not only to the regional market, but also the global market. Having a company stand will also give us the opportunity to sell to the audience the services that we offer to our customers. The required registration charge for attending the conference is $700 per person, which comes to $2,100 for the three of us. However, registering before September will reduce registration cost by $ 100 per person, which means we will pay $ 1,800. In addition, our flight will cost $440 per person to and fro, while accommodation and meals will cost $ 1,000 per person for the two days. We will also need $3,000 for miscellaneous expenses, including travel cost from the airport to the conference venue. The total cost of attendance for the three of us will be $9,420. This conference offers the best opportunity for me and my colleagues to establish better contacts with industry business leaders and gain critical knowledge in product development. Therefore, my

The India Model Essay Example for Free
The India Model Essay India is currently listed among the countries having large economies. In fact, India has the fourth highest growth rate following Japan. Indiaââ¬â¢s economic success is not the thing that should be taken into account but the path or the model they have chosen is worth noticing. Instead of relying on the usual method of exporting low priced manufactured goods to West, India depended upon its local markets. India focused more on services and high tech industry which were the main keys to their economic success. As, the Indians focused more on their domestic markets they were not that influenced from the economic worldwide recession which affected many other countries. One other remarkable thing about the model that India is following is the promotion of the entrepreneurs; India is encouraging a healthy competition among the private companies that are being established in the country. India has always promoted economic activities by removing trade barriers, lowering tax rates, encouraging competition, eliminating state monopolies, and liberating industries. Indiaââ¬â¢s current trend of growth is likely to continue and even accelerate in the coming years. India started to develop rapidly in the era of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who appreciated the private sector in the country which was previously suppressed. Indiaââ¬â¢s condition enhanced a lot since the start of 1990s. Telecommunications has revolutionized, interest rates are lowered, infrastructure has been developed and a big amount of capital has been raised. Even though India has progressed a lot, developing from an agriculture economy to service based economy, it missed out on the industrial revolution which could have changed the lives of millions who are forced to live in poverty. The lack of attention on industrial growth has made Indiaââ¬â¢s middle step towards progress a little weak. This lacking is a result of bad policies set by earlier governments. After Independence Nehru tried to bring a government guided Industrial revolution. Since he did not have trust on the private firms he gave powers to the public sector, making it stronger. This step of his hampered all of the small scale industries, present in the country at that time, as they got helpless against the competition against mighty public sector. Since Nehruââ¬â¢s era government had been neglecting small scale industries, but in the recent yearââ¬â¢s steps has been taken to encourage these small industries. It is predicted that in future years India will develop strongly in the industrial sector also. There are several other things that the current government has to modify in the current India model to make India a more successful state. The government has to provide confidence to the entrepreneurs so that the industrial sector can boost. It has to provide them with low priced energy sources, cut down indirect taxes; instead impose proper goods and services tax, designate economic zones which can reduce the regulatory burdens and abolish unjust labor laws. Indiaââ¬â¢s success and glory lie in the hands of self confident and hardworking Indians. They are the ones who are going to determine Indiaââ¬â¢s future. To conclude I would like to quote a famous saying that, ââ¬Å"As you sow, so you shall reapâ⬠. So whatever the government does today to secure the talent of these brilliant minds will surely pay off them in the long run, for preserving and nurturing these outstanding Indian minds government has to take some measure to provide them with quality education, proper shelter, food and water. Laying foundations today is definitely going to waive off the harsh times tomorrow.

What is Social Science Essay -- Sociology, Social Status, Social Inter
What is the job of social science? Social science focuses its attention on the social aspects of human nature; its job is to study how individuals can relate with and communicate with each other. ââ¬Å"Social scientists study the social environment in which we live in an attempt to understand human society and to predict how people will interact in a given set of circumstances (Mack, 2004, p584). In this essay, I discuss the role of social science for societies and individuals, how individuals relate to societies and the function of rules in societies as a main concern of social science. Social scienceââ¬â¢s duty is to train human being how to deal with social status. As we were born, we were part of a society; we were a member of a family; families are the first breaks of societies. So, all of us were coping with social groups since we were born: families, schools, peer groups and even media shape our social environment. Mack (2004) noticed in his data, ââ¬Å"All human beings are social. People have to interact with other people in order to survive. Since all human beings live in a society, which is to say that every person is a member of some human group, it is just reasonable to speak of a social environmentâ⬠(p584). Social science teaches us, as members of society, how to deal and interact with social environment. The question is why do people need to learn that knowledge? The answer is that human being are social creatures, hence they need social science to improve their social abilities. It is hard for a human being to live by himself out of a society. Even thought it is possible for a human being to survive in solitude, without any kind of social connection, not all of his talent could flourish in isolation. Skills like communicati... ...ience knowledge is a powerful resource for understanding and coping with the growing complexities, uncertainties and risks in our worldâ⬠(Kazancigil, 2003, p379). Individuals are the parts which form societies as a whole. Individuals have a mutual relationship with societies. Both of them are under the control of social science; social scienceââ¬â¢s tool for overseeing them is legislation. Various rules shape diverse societies where individuals interact differently. It is not an option to be a part of society or not, since we were born we became a part of society. So, as long as we relate to societies, we should care and learn about social science. Through social science we learn the reasons of our actions and our manners. If we required modifying our behaviours in order to mature and boom our talents, social science is here to help us and show us the ways. High School Dropouts Reflection Essay
I believe the dropout rate is so high because, as stated in the article ââ¬Å"High School Dropouts: Costly to American Economyâ⬠, ââ¬Å"the teachers [donââ¬â¢t] care, the students [donââ¬â¢t] care.â⬠I believe that lack of interest on both the studentââ¬â¢s and the teacherââ¬â¢s part impacts whether a student might drop out. I also believe that factors like, problems at home, bullying at school, etc., also plays an enormous role on the results stated in the articles. Knowing that one of the main reasons of having a job includes, earning money, it leads me to assume that those who drop out do not want to earn less, or be among the 12% of jobless individuals that do not have a high school diploma. Furthermore, I believe that it is evident that a high number or drop outs implies that there are important factors behind what causes an individual to decide to drop out of high school. Looking at the statistics that dropouts cost taxpayers $8 billion annually, and $300 billion dollars in earnings are lost every year due to the decrease in pay of those who do not have a high school diploma, has led me to believe that our state/federal government should eliminate the option of dropping out of high school. It makes no sense that they have not done so, seeing that they have the right, and it is within their power and right to do so. Also, after seeing the statistic that the incarceration rates were 63 times higher among high school drop outs within the ages of 16 and 24, and in an effort to solve two problems: the number of kids that drop out of high school and kids who are behind bars, I believe there should be a greater effort to achieve mass awareness about the negative effects of dropping out of high school early, the same magnitude as the programs and advertisements on breast cancer, and the effects of smoking cigarettes. This plan, although costly, would in turn decrease the amount of high school dropouts, people behind bars, and jobless individuals in this nation. Presidential Election Reflection I believe that out of the five factors listed in the article, the debates are the most important. I believe the debates are important because it allows you to look at each candidate side by side and hear not only their plan on how they plan on turning the economy around, creating jobs, and leading this country on a path that will allow us to decrease this nationââ¬â¢s debt but also to see each candidateââ¬â¢s tactics on using the opposing opponent words or ideas to bash/ or blatantly state why they are wrong. I also believe it is important because you get to actually hear their own words and beliefs, unrehearsed, without a teleprompter, and without being warped in the game of telephone by social media and propaganda. I think that the presidential debates are more important than the electoral map, because the electoral map for the most part generally stays the same and predictable. The ads and messages used to attack the other candidate, or twist the words of another candidate in my opinion are effective, but very childish, immature, and not anything I would imagine a ââ¬Å"presidentâ⬠taking a part of. Propaganda is a very effective way of spreading a message, and getting everyoneââ¬â¢s attention, so itââ¬â¢s also important, although not in the same way as the debates are. In my opinion, money is the second most important part of the presidential race. The amount of money a party raises, shows how much they are supported. In the article, it states that ââ¬Å"the Republican Party presidential committees had about $186 million on hand, compared with about $124 million for Mr. Obama and the Democrats.â⬠This shows how both each candidate is supported. I actually have watched one of the debates, as an extra credit assignment for U.S History, and I thought that the debate was interesting, and I liked how the debate was set up.
